Drake Savage has always done the right thing, especially where beautiful and fiercely determined Serena Mallery is concerned-even when it means keeping his feelings for her to himself. Serena has always wanted more than what their small town of Wellfleet, Massachusetts has to offer, and Drake’s roots are so deeply entrenched in the Cape, it’s all he can do to watch her pack up her life and move away. Serena has always had big dreams. As a teenager she dreamed of becoming an interior designer and marrying smart, musically inclined, sexy-as-sin Drake Savage. Now she’s finally landed a killer job with a top interior design firm, but though she has spent the last four years working side by side with Drake, he’s never made a move. Four years is long enough for her to accept reality, and her new job in Boston is the perfect way to move on. A weak moment leads to sizzling, sensual kisses, opening a door through which they’ve both been aching to walk. But Serena’s determined not to give up her shot at the career she’s always dreamed of, and Drake has loved her for too many years to stand in her way. With true love at their fingertips and a world of unstoppable passion igniting between them, can the two star-crossed lovers find their way to their happily ever after?
Thank you to Lisa for letting me be part of this tour. Drake and Serena’s relationship is one I have been looking forward to since the Bayside series started. While this is the third book in the series they can all be read as standalones. Serena and Drake have chemistry so hot I’m surprised my kindle didn’t melt! They have been friends for many years and that heat has been simmering under the surface the whole time. Drake is a protector through and through. He’s spent his whole life protecting not only his family but also Serena. It’s this that has always held him back from starting anything with her. He never wanted to be the one to hold her back from her dreams. Serena has spent her whole life try to ensure she doesn’t end up like her mum. Her mum was never around for Serena or her sister Chloe. Serena’s mum spent her days working and her nights looking for a man to fix her problems. Serena has been determined to make her mark and do it without the help of her man. This story was addictive and heartfelt. I was rooting for these two from the first page. This is everything you need for a perfect afternoon of reading. It has romance, sun, sea, sand, some laughs and friends you want to have. I really enjoyed every part of this book and I honestly cannot wait to return for more from the Bayside gang. I’m particularly excited to hear Gavin’s story.

He lifted one of her hands to his lips, and pressed a kiss to each of her fingers, then he settled her hand beneath his on the mattress, and did the same with her other hand. “This is the first time you’ve been in my bed, and I want to remember everything about it. Your hair spilling over the pillows, the feel of you beneath me, the look in your eyes.” “It’s not the first time,” she whispered. “When we finished decorating your apartment, I laid right across the bed staring up at the ceiling while you were talking with Rick, remember?” “I do, actually. I remember wondering if he’d think I was a dick if I asked him to leave so I could try to seduce you.” “Liar.” She grinned. “You’re right. I wondered if he’d think I was a dick if I told him to leave and flat out took advantage of you.” Passion simmered in her eyes. “God, how I wish you had.”
