Issy Randall, proud owner of The Cupcake Cafe, is in love and couldn’t be happier. Her new business is thriving and she is surrounded by close friends, even if her cupcake colleagues Pearl and Caroline don’t seem quite as upbeat about the upcoming season of snow and merriment. But when her boyfriend Austin is scouted for a possible move to New York, Issy is forced to face up to the prospect of a long-distance romance. And when the Christmas rush at the cafe – with its increased demand for her delectable creations – begins to take its toll, Issy has to decide what she holds most dear.

This December, Issy will have to rely on all her reserves of courage, good nature and cinnamon, to make sure everyone has a merry Christmas, one way or another. . .

Indulge yourself and your sweet-toothed friends with Jenny Colgan’s new novel, simply bursting with Christmas cupcake recipes and seasonal sugar-fuelled fun.

Firstly thank you to Lisa at Tasty Book Tours for letting me take part in this tour. I recently read Meet Me at the Cupcake Cafe. I couldn’t put it down. I absolutely loved it. It did give a a real craving for cakes though. So obviously when I saw that Christmas at Cupcake Cafe was going on tour I just HAD to join in.

This book picks up a year after the first book. While it is a sequel of Meet Me at the Cupcake Cafe it can also be read as a stand alone novel.

Issy is now a running a successful business. The Cafe is thriving and it’s nearly the festive season. However Caroline and Pearl are less than excited about the upcoming season.

Issy and Austin are great. They have had a great year together, even Darny enjoys having Issy around. But when Austin is head-hunted to move to New York the problems start to arise.

I really liked Maya and thought she was a good addition to this book.

Like the first book this has recipes at the beginning of most of the chapters which I really liked.

This books is sweet and funny as well as sad in places. This book is extremely addictive and will make you want to start baking those Christmas goodies. There is something about Jenny’s writing that makes you want to keep reading and reading and reading. I can’t wait to read more of Jenny’s books.
