When life feels like a puzzle, sometimes it’s the small pieces that make up the bigger picture… Join Bridget on a journey to put her world back together.

A successful travel journalist, Bridget has ambitions to turn her quirky relationship blog about the missing pieces of her heart into a book. But after a spate of rejections from publishers, she accepts an alternative proposition.

Nicole Dupré died leaving behind a bestselling novel and an incomplete sequel. Tasked with finishing the book, Bridget is thankful to have her foot in the publishing door, even if it means relocating to Cornwall for the summer and answering to Nicole’s grieving husband, Charlie

I am a huge fan of Paige Toon and I have read almost all of her books. Lucy in the Sky is one of my favourite books of all time. One of the things that I love most about Paige’s stories is how they are all connected.

Bridget first appears in The Longest Holiday and Thirteen Weddings. I have always loved Bridget’s character so I had a lot of excitement for this book. Bridget has a lot of layers and is a very complex character. She puts on a bit of a front that she is a happy go lucky girl but she has so much depth to her that not everyone gets to see.

I won’t go into the story but there were some parts that were really heartbreaking. I loved the two main locations. I haven’t been to Thailand and I have only been to Cornwall once when I was little but thanks to Paige’s descriptions I felt like I was right there with Bridget.

This story is some classic Paige Toon writing. This book is exactly why I fell in love with Paige Toon back in 2009 when I first read Lucy in the Sky. This is my favourite book of 2017.

I think the ending for this book and I don’t think there was a more perfect person for Bridget to give the last piece of her heart to.
