One ex.
One wedding.
One little white lie.

When Samantha Jenkins is asked to be the maid of honour at her best friend’s wedding, she couldn’t be happier. There are just three problems…

1) Sam’s ex-boyfriend, Liam, will be the best man.
2) His new girlfriend is pregnant.
3) Sam might have told people she has a new man when she doesn’t (see points 1 and 2 above)

So, Sam does the only sensible thing available to her… and hires a professional to do the job.

Actor Jake Porter is perfect for the role: single, gorgeous and cheap! Sam is certain it’s the perfect solution: no strings, no heartbreak and hopefully no chance of being found out.

But spending a week in the Scottish Highlands with Jake is harder than she imagined. He is the perfect boyfriend, charming, sexy and the hottest thing in a kilt since Outlander! And his dog Harry is quite possibly the cutest things Sam has ever seen!

As the wedding draws closer, Jake plays his part to perfection and everyone believes he is madly in love with Sam. The problem is, Sam’s not sure if Jake is acting anymore…

Thank you to Rachel for letting me take part in this tour and to Harper Impulse for my copy of this book. I’ve read some of Zara’s books before and I really enjoyed her writing style so I couldn’t let this one sit on my TBR pile.

Sam is an east character to identify with. She was recently dumped by her jerk of a boyfriend Liam. He essentially took her for granted and sadly she let him. I’ve been Sam, been in that comfortable, safe relationship and I am so glad I got out when I did. I really liked Sam and I thought she was a true and loyal friend to Jess. I’m no sure Jess deserved all of her support considering she hadn’t really been there for her in the break up.

Now I really want to talk about Jake. This man is all sorts of swoon. He is hotter than Liam Hemsworth, he’s good with children, he loves dogs and on top of all of that he knows how to make a girl laugh. Sorry Sam but you might have a fight on your hands for this one!

Talking of laughing, this book was HILARIOUS! Honestly I have not laughed so much in ages. The boyfriend could hear me from another room. There were times I had tears in my eyes from laughing. There are a few scenes, you will know when you get there, that will just have you in stitches! I absolutely enjoyed every page of this book and I really really need to catch up on Zara’s other books on my TBR pile.

This is a real feel good read that will keep you laughing for hours.

About Zara Stoneley

Bestselling author Zara Stoneley lives in deepest Cheshire surrounded by horses, dogs, cats and amazing countryside. When she’s not visiting wine bars, artisan markets or admiring the scenery in her sexy high heels or green wellies, she can be found in flip flops on the beach in Barcelona, or more likely sampling the tapas!
Zara writes hot romance and bonkbusters. Her latest novel, ‘Stable Mates’, is a fun romp through the Cheshire countryside and combines some of her greatest loves – horses, dogs, hot men and strong women (and not forgetting champagne and fast cars)!
She writes for Harper Collins and Accent Press.
