Christmas Q&A with…Leah Michelle

1) Tell me a little bit about you

Hello! My name is Leah, I am 24, I live in Tenerife and I work at Iceland! I’ve been blogging for 5 years, since 2009, but I’m actually currently on a break while I work on my new website (link below) which will be launching the first week of January. I am obsessed with books (obviously), American TV shows, owls (I love them!), dogs, and I’m a very, very long-suffering Manchester United fan!

2)What do you love about Christmas?

I love the decorations. My absolutely favourite part of Christmas is the decorations and the shiny, sparkly lights. I love seeing the houses all festooned with tinsel and lights, and santa and his reindeers. I also really, really love my Mam’s Christmas dinner. It is the best bar none, and well worth waiting for it each and every year.

3) What do you hate about Christmas?

That I have to work during that time. Because I work in a supermarket we’re obviously open Christmas Eve and Boxing Day, so it’s not like you can just take the week off to chill out and relax and enjoy the holiday. Thankfully, this year, I’m working Christmas Eve and then have three days off in a row which is a bonus!

4) What is your favourite Christmas book?

I couldn’t tell you an absolute favourite – but a few I’ve read this year that are pretty awesome are Humbugs & Heartstrings by Catherine Ferguson & The Christmas Party by Carole Matthews. Both positively festive and absolutely wonderful reads!

5) What is your favourite Christmas song?

I like Feliz Navidad. It’s hard to keep up your like for Christmas songs though, when they play all day for a month straight. You’re usually demented by day two and wishing bad things on all the Christmas singers lol.

6) What was your best Christmas?

Ooh, tricky. Probably my best Christmas was the one before we moved to Tenerife. We spent the day in the house, it was suitably snowy (I think – it was 11 years ago), and then we went to our family on Boxing Day for tea. That was always our tradition in England and I loved it. Christmas isn’t the same in Tenerife, with the stupid sun shining all day and no snow to speak of!

7) What was your best Christmas present?

Another tricky one! Every year I get a present that’s awesome. Last year I got a tablet, but my best present was probably my iPod touch a few years ago. I use it nearly every day, and it’s been put through its paces for sure!

8) What was your worst Christmas present?

I’ve never really had a bad Christmas present. I’m not a massive fan of disliking presents – after all, if thought went in to it, and someone thought I would really like it, then I can’t really complain. And it’s not as if I have relatives who will buy me weird things lol.

9) Describe your ideal Christmas

It would be the one I described above – spent in England or somewhere with snow and spending the day with family, with a pretty awesome roast dinner!

10) What do you want for Christmas this year?

The How I Met Your Mother box set – to finally solve the Pineapple mystery, and some new Vans would be pretty sweet. I’m not after much this year (I think I’m growing out of lots of presents – either that, or I just have everything I need already…)

11) Where can we find you?

Thank you Leah for taking part in my Christmas Q&A.
