2015 Challenges
Ok so lets start with how I did on my challenges this year. I had a lot going on at the beginning part of the year and I have moved twice this year so while I didn’t meet all of my challenges I’m happy with the progress I made.
Goodreads 80/100 books
TBR pile 25/40 books
Netgalley 23/50 books
Christmas 20/20 books
2016 Challenges
So now that 2016 has started it’s time to set some new goals for the year. While I don’t know if I’ll meet them I’m going to try my damndest to get there so here we go.
Goodreads Challenge 100 books – Last year I didn’t quite meet the 100 target I set last January so this year I am determined to beat it
TBR pile Challenge 30 books – My TBR pile is forever growing and there was a lot of books I bought/got given in 2015 that I haven’t been able to give my attention to so I aim to read at least 30 books that were published in 2015 or before.
Netgalley Challenge 30 books – like most bloggers my netgalley account is out of control. I have issues and I can’t stop requesting books. So this year my aim is to increase my % by reading at least 30 books.
Christmas Challenge 25 books – In 2015 this was the only challenge I completed. I love Christmas, it’s my favourite time of year and I have sooo many christmas books to read that I have set myself the challenge of at least 25 this year.
Paperback Challenge 10 books – I have shelves and shelves of paperbacks but I’m always drawn to my kindle. It’s more convenient for me to read on there. I take it everywhere, it has a built in light and no matter the length of the book it always weighs the same. However I have a lot of paperbacks that I’m dying to read so this year I am going to read at least 10 of them.
New Year Resolutions
While I’m unlikely to stick to these for more than 5 minutes I’m really going to try.
The first is to sign up to less tours. While I love being involved in blog tours I have so many books I want to read that by signing up to tours I’m putting new books above them so this year I’m going to try to have a few less tours.
This leads nicely onto my second resolution which is to focus more on the books I already have. I have over 600 books on my kindle plus those on my physical shelves. While I know I wont get close to getting through them I’d like to end the year with less books on my TBR pile than I started.
My Third and final resolution is to request less on Netgalley. This is going to be the hardest of the three. Like I said above I have issues.
