Kady, Ezra, Hanna, and Nik narrowly escaped with their lives from the attacks on Heimdall station and now find themselves crammed with 2,000 refugees on the container ship, Mao. With the jump station destroyed and their resources scarce, the only option is to return to Kerenza—but who knows what they’ll find seven months after the invasion?

Meanwhile, Kady’s cousin, Asha, survived the initial BeiTech assault and has joined Kerenza’s ragtag underground resistance. When Rhys—an old flame from Asha’s past—reappears on Kerenza, the two find themselves on opposite sides of the conflict. With time running out, a final battle will be waged on land and in space, heros will fall, and hearts will be broken.

After listening to the first two books I was so glad that I didn’t need to wait to listen to the final book.

In this book, we have all of the guys from the previous book together and we also have some new characters. The story flick between the Mao where Kady, Ezra and the gang are and Kerenza. This is the first time we have seen what has been going on, on Kerenza since the initial attack. Back on Kerenza is Kady’s cousin Asha. Asha has been trying to survive since the attack.

I really enjoyed flicking between the two and seeing the various perspectives of this story. There were many characters from the first two books and it was great to see them interacting with each other. Asha and Rhys were such a good addition to this already varied and entertaining cast.

This book was an excellent conclusion to an epic series that will stay with me for a very long time. I hear that Jay and Aime are releasing a new series next year and I honestly cannot wait for this!
