Why I Limited to 2 Genres

Hello,

I hope your enjoying the birthday celebrations and you’re getting to know me and my blog a little better.

Today I’m going to talk about why I decided to limit the blog to two genres.

To be honest it’s pretty simple I love Chicklit books and I love fantasy books.

I know there are lots of people out there that hate Chicklit/chickflicks but I’m a lover. The romance, the butterflies the whole build up to the first kiss. I love it. But it’s not just romance it’s the rest of the story. The friends, the life struggles, the good and the bad times the things that we can really identify with that keep me hooked.

I watch a lot of American TV shows and some of my favourites are fantasy based, Vampire Diaries, True Blood ( The early series anyways), Supernatural, Heroes, The Witches of East End, S.H.I.E.L.D, Fringe, Grimm the list goes on. So when it comes to book naturally I love anything with a hint of supernaturalism. I think the biggest draw with fantasy books for me is the what if this is actually real. I mean I know it’s not but then sometimes I just sit back and think what if somewhere out there hiding there really is vampires, werewolves, fairy’s, mind readers, etc. It would be so cool.

I have read other genres in the past but I tend to not enjoy them so I thought that by limiting the blog to just the genres I already know I enjoy I would be less likely to read books I will hate. Sometimes I do wonder if I made the right decision to limit myself but I have a HUGE TBR pile so I usually tend to think meh I’ve got enough books and if I do want to read something outside of these genres  I still review it.

Giveaway

Today I am giving away 2 of my all time favourite books.

For Chicklit Lucy in the Sky by Paige Toon. It is an ultimate chicklit book. I love ALL of Paige’s books. There is something unique about her writing that has you instantly hooked. This is Paige’s debut book which I borrowed from a friend a few years ago.

For Fantasy I had a slightly harder time picking a book. I have recently become a huge fan of dystopian books but I’m pretty sure everyone probably already owns my favourites The Hunger Games and Divergent trilogies. So then I started thinking about some of my other favourite series. I loved the Soul Screamer Series by Rachel Vincent. It’s quite unique and the characters go through so much from start to finish, so I have decided to give away book one in the series My Soul to Take.

UK only.
