Christmas Spotlight: Jenny Hale

Today is the first of my Christmas Spotlight posts. I will be posting everyday through December showcasing another christmas book just for you. I will also have guest posts and maybe a giveaway or two. The first post is coming from the wonderful Jenny Hale and we’re talking cocktails!!

Christmas is coming! If you’re like me, you have a mental list of everything that will need to be done to make this holiday great. That list got me thinking: wouldn’t it be great if there were a cocktail for every item on the list? Well, look no further! Here you go!

Christmas To-Do List

  1. Arrange a family gathering

This one item requires phone calls, Facebook messages, food lists, shopping, and schedule-juggling to be sure everyone can make it at the same time. That calls for a big cocktail:

The Blazing Apple

2 oz. of rum

3 oz. apple cider

1 tablespoon maple syrup

Cinnamon to taste

Warm on stove 2 minutes.

Garnish with cinnamon stick.

  1. Decorate the tree!

Even though it’s such a big thing to do, the actual act is so exciting that it requires something sparkly.

Red Sparkles

Mix red current puree with champagne

Garnish with a mint leaf

  1. Write Christmas cards.

This requires a lot of endurance. You’re going to want something you can sip on slowly.

Roasted Kahlua

Brew coffee and fill mug ¾ full.

Add 2 oz. Kahlua

Top with Cream

Garnish with Candy Cane

  1. Wrap presents.

Wrapping presents requires a sharp eye, good folds, and lots of ribbon. Something sweet will help you do the job.

Sugar and Spice

Mix Caramel Vodka and milk

Garnish with cream, cinnamon, and chocolate shavings

  1. Bake cookies.

We all take a little nibble of the chocolate chips or the cookie dough, so it’s important to have a drink that will hold up to those flavors.

Chocolate Madness

Make hot chocolate.

Add peppermint schnapps.

Top with whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles.

Now you’re all liquored up it’s time for me to tell you about Jenny’s latest Christmas Release…..

An uplifting, beautiful story about never letting go of your dreams, the special magic of a family Christmas… and the rush of falling in love under the mistletoe.  Single mother Abbey Fuller loves her family more than anything, and doesn’t regret for a moment having had to put her dreams of being an interior designer on hold. But with her son, Max, growing up, when a friend recommends her for a small design job she jumps at the chance. How hard can it be?  Nick Sinclair needs his house decorated in time for his family’s festive visit – and money is no object. What he doesn’t need is to be distracted from his multi-million dollar business – even if it is Christmas.  When Abbey pulls up to the huge Sinclair mansion, she has a feeling she might be out of her depth. And when she meets the gorgeous, brooding Nicholas Sinclair, she knows that she’s in real trouble…  With the snow falling all around, can Abbey take the chance to make her dreams of being a designer come true? And can she help Nick to finally enjoy the magic of Christmas?

About Jenny Hale

When I graduated college, one of my friends said, “Look out for this one; she’s going to be an author one day.” Despite being an avid reader and a natural storyteller, it wasn’t until that very moment that the idea of writing novels occurred to me.

Sometimes our friends can see the things that we can’t.

While I didn’t start straight away, that comment sowed a seed and several years, two children, and hundreds of thousands of words later, I completed a novel that I felt was worthy of publication. The result is Coming Home for Christmas, a heart-warming story about friends, family, and the magic of love at Christmas.

I released my second book, Love Me for Me, this past summer, and my next novel, A Christmas to Remember is out now.

When I’m not writing, I’m a District Teacher of English to Speakers of Other Languages, a mother of two boys, and a wife to a very supportive husband.
