Jenna Ward is vivacious, spontaneous, and confident—except when she’s around the man who stole her heart years earlier, strikingly handsome, quiet, and reliable Pete Lacroux. After years of trying to get his attention and overwhelmed from dealing with her mother’s new cougar lifestyle, Jenna’s giving up on Peter—and is ready to explore other men.

As the eldest of five siblings, with an alcoholic father to care for, boat craftsman Pete Lacroux always does the right thing and has no time for a real relationship. He’s looking forward to seeing his friend Jenna, a welcome distraction who’s so damn sexy and so painfully shy that she equally entertains and confuses him.

When Jenna picks up a hard-bodied construction worker, jealousy ignites Pete’s true feelings, and he’s powerless to ignore the desires for Jenna he never realized he had. But Pete’s not the quiet guy he appears to be, and his life is anything but conducive to a relationship. Can Jenna handle the real Pete Lacroux—the sexiest, most passionate alpha male she’s ever seen—or will she crack under pressure? And can Pete reclaim the life he once had without tearing apart his family?

As always thank you to JB for letting me take part in this blog tour. This is the second book in the Seaside Summer series. The Seaside gang make me howl with laughter and Melissa makes you instantly feel like part of the gang.

Jenna is a feisty, hot, confident woman….that is unless she is around Pete Lacroux. She has been in love with this man for as long as she can remember and she spends every summer pining after him. Around everyone else she is strong and confident but as soon as she’s with Pete she becomes mute. She’s decided this summer is the one where she moves on.

Pete is a strong, loyal, family man. He is protective of those that he loves and he’s a pretty mild mannered  quiet guy. In the past he has always thought he needed a confident woman. He’s seen what Jenna is like when she think’s he’s not there and can’t understand why she can’t function around him. It was very interesting to see the real Pete unleashed. The way he teased Jenna with his promises was very entertaining.

It was really great to meet Pete’s family, especially Sky, and I have a sneaking suspicion it will not be the last we see of the Lacroux family.

Most of the Love in Blooms series is about two people meeting for the first time and getting that spark, knowing from the off that they were the one. This book was a little different. It was really great to see their friendship blossom into something more.

I love the Seaside Gang and I can’t wait to read the rest of their stories.
