For Waverly Bryson, life is anything but boring! And never is that fact more evident than in Maria Murnane’s delightful third novel about the irrepressible heroine. This time around, Waverly faces a game-changing opportunity: an offer to turn her popular advice column into a regular guest spot on the new TV show Love, Wendy. It could be the break of a lifetime—but for a few not-so-minor details. For starters, Waverly’s acceptance of the job means moving clear across the country, giving up her rent-controlled apartment, and leaving behind her best friends McKenna and Andie. Oh, and there’s the fact that TV host extraordinaire Wendy Davenport is none-too-pleased by the prospect of Waverly usurping her broadcast throne. Then there’s Jake, Waverly’s boyfriend. He’s as crazy about her as ever. His mother, on the other hand? Not so much. But Waverly wouldn’t be Waverly if she didn’t tackle these challenges head on, with all the zeal, good humor, and, yes, occasional catastrophe that we’ve come to expect from “the American Bridget Jones.” Witty, light-hearted, and fun, Honey on Your Mind is Waverly Bryson at her best.

When I heard there was a 3rd Waverly book I was so excited. I loved Perfect on Paper and It’s a Waverly Life. If you haven’t read these then I highly recommend them.

Moving to New York is a big change for Waverly. But, this was an opportunity she couldn’t miss. Bringing Honey on Your Mind to TV who could turn that down?

It was hard for her to leave Mckenna and Andie but, Paige, Andie’s cousin, made a great confidant and friend. Paige is enlisted to help Waverly expand Honey notes into something bigger.

As with the first two books I couldn’t stop laughing.

Waverly and Jake are now in the same time zone, which Waverly hopes will bring them closer. However, holding down two demanding jobs, leaves Waverly with little spare time.

Then, throw in Jake’s ice cold mum and things become a little more difficult. This was a great easy read which, I highly recommend.

About Maria Murnane

Maria’s road to becoming an author is a little crazy. She used to work in high-tech PR but hated it, so she quit and ended up playing semi-pro soccer in Argentina for a year. While she was down there she decided to write a novel, which was something she’d always dreamed of doing. Fast forward a few years and a LOT of perseverance, and she’s now the best-selling author of Perfect on Paper, It’s a Waverly Life, Honey on Your Mind, Chocolate for Two, Cassidy Lane, and Katwalk. Her next book, Wait for the Rain, will be released in Feb 2015. And yes, she still plays a lot of soccer!
