How the hell is it New Year’s Eve? This year has flown by and now it is time to look back over my favourite reads of the year.
Oh, Detective Dan. I love Detective Dan. The Night of the Party is the fifth book in the series but they can all be read as standalone. I have now managed to persuade my husband to start this series too and he is loving it!
Am I Allergic to Men? is the final book in the Callaghan series. Lucy Callaghan is my favourite of all the sisters and I was so looking forward to her book. It is full of Kirsten’s trademark humour. I also really enjoyed Great Sexpectations. I cannot wait to see what Kirsten brings us in her next book.
Aven Ellis is one of my favourite authors and I have been waiting two years for Caught Looking! I love Chase and Meghan their instant chemistry is just off the charts!
Detective Madison Harper fast became one of my favourites last year and Gone to Her Grave was the perfect addition this year. Wendy caused me so many emotions and this story was worth every single one!
The Do Over is Sharon’s debut book and what a story it was. I found it so funny and Mimi is just the best!
For anyone who grew up in the late 90’s early 00s then Truly, Madly, Amy will give you all the nostalgic feels and sweep you up in those teenage romances.
If you missed it yesterday was Bridgerton day on the blog. I recently raced through all of the audiobooks and When He Was Wicked turned out to be my favourite! I love Francesca and Michael’s story and urge you to read it today.
Helen Phifer became one of my favourite authors a few years ago. Find the Girl is part of her Detective Morgan Brookes series and my favourite of the ones released this year. Detective Brookes always puts herself in danger to save others and regularly gives me heart-in-the-mouth moments. If you are looking for a gory and exciting police procedural pick up this one today
The Trapped Ones is the 5th book in the Nikki Hunt series. I love this series and this was my favourite release from the series this year. The case is perplexing and shocking.
Heidi Swain is one of my favourite authors. She does a cracking Christmas book and A Christmas Celebration is no exception. I was so happy to return to Wynthrope Hall for Christmas and more of Angus antics!
Josie Quinn is one of the first detective series I started reading and now we are on book 15 with Local Girl Missing. Josie is a bad ass and I love her more with every book. This one had everyone stumped!
Missing Angel is part of the Agent Tori Hunter series. Tori and Braddock make an excellent team and Roger knows just how to keep you on the edge of your seat!
Her Deadly Promise is the latest in the Detective Gina Harte series. Gina and the team have quite the case. This one is really heartbreaking.
It wouldn’t be a top books of the year post without one of my favourite authors Holly Martin. This year Holly brought us 3 books all set in Wishing Wood. This series has one of my favourite settings! The Wishing Wood is a holiday village where all the houses are treehouses! How cool is that! The series follows three brothers as they each fall in love.
