I hate Nicholas Banfield, Viscount Longwood. He’s cocky. Annoying. And most of all, he’s a liar.
So why is he living rent-free in my head every hour I’m awake, and sometimes when I’m asleep?
It may have something to do with the fact that I’m working on his historic estate. And . . . I may have had a crush on him that one summer when we were nineteen. But I’ve never forgiven him for betraying me on that fateful night in Dorset.
Yet as I now see his athletic frame and wavy, dark brown hair, something shifts in his whisky-hued eyes. As his gaze meets mine, I can’t stop wondering what if . . .
What if forgiving the past means a chance at something more? Or, what if it leads to another broken heart?

Oh, what a joy it is to read another book by Aven. This time we are delving into the first full-length book of the Modern Aristocrats series. This is a sister series to the Modern Royals.

In this book, we follow Amelia Westbrook as she discovers her true passions in life. From what her career path is to how she really feels about Lord of the Manor, Nicholas Banfield.

Aven writes authentic and hilarious rom-com books. Aven dedicates a lot of time to researching even the smallest of things. Aven is also extremely good at making me laugh out loud. There are some hilarious scenes in this book. I’m looking at you, Roy and Carl! Along with some very sweet, romantic ones between Amelia and Nicholas.

Aven has started some threads for future books and I for one cannot wait to see them unfold!

If you are looking for a laugh-out-loud read to round out your summer then grab this one today!

About Aven Ellis

I live in the Dallas area with my family. I enjoy clipping out recipes I will never get around to trying, working out, and chatting with friends on social media. I’m a hockey nut (Go Stars!) and watch as much as humanly possible. I also love shopping and fashion and admit to being obsessed with whatever the Duchess of Cambridge is wearing. In addition to be obsessed with the Duchess, I’m equally obsessed with any show or cookbook featuring Gordon Ramsay.
