December 2574. Forty-three days before the BeiTech attack on Kerenza IV.
This is the story of my first friendship.
This is the tale of my first murder?
Some monsters are born.
But I?

I was made.

This novella was free when you pre-ordered Aurora Rising. This story is set prior to the main Illuminae books but only by a little bit. I only listened to the audio for this series last year but I soon fell in love. I consumed all three books so quickly!

This story tells the origins of AIDEN. It tells us how AIDEN became who he is. It explains gaps I hadn’t realised were there!

Like the Illuminae files, this novella has a very different layout to your regular book. It takes some getting used to for sure but after a few pages, you become so consumed by the story that it becomes easy to read. I love that Jay and Aime aren’t afraid to be different.

I really enjoyed this story and I am so lucky to have been able to read it. I feel like I have gushed more about Jay and Aime than I have about the book but if you have a copy and you haven’t read it yet then grab it, sit yourself down and prepare for a story that is everything you never knew you needed.
